Toy: Make A Child Happy With a Toy Stove You Built
I could have gone to Ikea and bought him a wooden stove, but decided to build him one. Note bottle top dials and pipe-cleaner elements.
1.
Dig out those old moving boxes.
2.
Cut one down to size to use as the back (leave a flap to hang
down) and sit that on the bottom box) (the oven). Aapply duct
tape
liberally.
3.
Tell son to give knife back to Daddy.
4.
Use tin foil liberally wherever you like. Cut cardboard
circles. Staple pipe cleaners in a swirl to circles
for elements. Ask
son not to put fingers under stapler.
5.
To make knobs, I used the tops of baby bottles, I found some
wire (you know the wire toys are always affixed to their carboard boxes
with and you spend hours trying to cut as your child looks on crying
because you've presented them with the toy, which is mystifyingly and
apparently permanently, attached to cardboard, I used that) punched
that through the box with a corkscrew.
6.When
your son isn't looking, do a Sylvia Plath imitation. If
stuck in the oven, stand up, wave arms and tell wife you've
finished
the robot costume.
7.
Find son, missing stapler and corkscrew.
8. Allow
son to disassemble.
